About

This year, attendees will be eligible to apply for one of the eight $4,000 grants from the Teaching Advancement Board to help implement ideas inspired by the retreat in their own courses. The grants that meet the objectives, terms, and criteria below will be awarded on a competitive basis.

Initiative

Instructional Innovation Mini Grants are available to support efforts to pursue innovation in teaching and learning. Projects may be inspired by participation in the Annual Faculty Retreat or other engagements in teaching and learning related activities. These grants are most often used to support a graduate assistant or offset expenses associated with the proposed project.

Objectives

  • To enable innovation and support efforts to enhance teaching and learning.
  • To seek broad participation from the many disciplines across campus.
  • To create a diverse and vibrant community focused on instructional innovation.

Terms

Eight grants of $4,000 will be awarded.

Grant recipients are expected to:

  • Attend an organizational meeting in mid-May with staff from the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning to meet other recipients and discuss available resources for their project.
  • Provide a brief summary of the project.

Criteria

The Teaching Advancement Board (TAB) and the Center for Innovation in Teaching and Learning (CITL) will evaluate proposals and present recommendations for awards to the Provost.
